Sculptra
What is Sculptra?
Sculptra is a biostimulatory injectable treatment that works gradually to restore facial volume and improve skin quality. Rather than acting as a traditional filler, it stimulates your body’s natural collagen production over time. This helps to rebuild structure within the skin, resulting in a fuller, firmer, and more youthful appearance that develops subtly and naturally.
How does Sculptra work?
Sculptra is made of poly-L-lactic acid, which is injected into targeted areas of the face. Once placed, it works beneath the skin to stimulate collagen production. As your body produces new collagen, the treated areas gradually regain volume and structure. Results appear over several weeks and continue to improve with time.

Sculptra FAQ
Am I a good candidate for this treatment?
During your consultation, your provider will assess your facial structure, volume loss, and overall goals. Sculptra is ideal for clients experiencing gradual volume loss, skin thinning, or those looking for a more natural, long-term approach to facial rejuvenation.
I have thinner or more mature skin—can I still get this treatment done?
Yes, Sculptra is particularly well suited for thinner or more mature skin, as it focuses on rebuilding collagen rather than simply adding immediate volume. Your provider will determine if it is the right option for you.
How many sessions do I need to see results?
Sculptra is typically performed as a series of treatments. Most clients require two to three sessions spaced several weeks apart, depending on the degree of volume loss and desired outcome. Results develop gradually and continue to improve over time.
How often should the treatments be?
Treatments are usually spaced approximately four to six weeks apart to allow for collagen stimulation and proper integration. Your provider will customize your treatment plan.
Do I need to do anything to prepare for the treatment?
You should avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications or supplements for several days prior to treatment, if medically appropriate, to reduce the risk of bruising. Arrive with clean skin and advise your provider of any medical conditions or medications.
How long does each session take?
Appointments are typically thirty to forty-five minutes, depending on the areas being treated.
What does the treatment feel like?
Sculptra injections are generally well tolerated. A topical numbing agent may be used, and the product is often mixed with lidocaine to enhance comfort. You may feel mild pressure or brief discomfort during the injections.
How will I feel after my treatment?
You may experience swelling, tenderness, or bruising in the treated areas. There may be an immediate fullness due to the injection fluid, which will subside within a few days. The true results develop gradually over the following weeks.
How long do the results last and are they permanent?
Results from Sculptra can last up to two years or longer, as it works by stimulating your own collagen. While long-lasting, results are not permanent and maintenance treatments may be recommended.
Do I need to do anything after the treatment?
After treatment, you will be instructed to follow the “5-5-5 rule,” which involves massaging the treated areas for five minutes, five times a day, for five days. You should also avoid excessive heat, strenuous exercise, and alcohol for at least twenty-four hours, and follow all aftercare instructions provided by your provider.
