MAXG PHOTOFACIAL

Reveal a glowing complexion.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) uses a rage of wavelengths. Different wavelengths allow pigmentation and broken blood vessels to break apart, diffuse, and slowly disappear through the natural healing process of the body.

What is the MaxG Photofacial?

Icon™ utilizes optimized pulsed light technology which, unlike lasers, uses many wavelengths of light with special filters that deliver the best wavelengths to treat each clients unique skintone and concerns.

How does the MaxG Photofacial work?

As the handpiece glides over the area being treated, specialized pulses of light are delivered into your skin and target brown spots, sun-damage and vessels without causing harm to the surrounding skin. Once these targets absorb the energy, they will be minimized and slowly clear due to the body’s natural healing process. Paired Skintel™, the industry’s only live melanin reader, we safely and accurately measure your skins levels in order to provide the most accurate and effective treatment possible. You may see your brown spots turn darker in colour and flake off over the next few weeks. You may also see an immediate improvement in your vessels with a continued clearance over the next few weeks.

Before MaxG Photofacial FAQ

During your consultation, your Level technician will determine your skintone and your skin’s history. If you’re looking to treat pigment, redness and facial veins, this photofacial is for you.

Since the Icon MaxG Photofacial deals with light energy, it is ideal for clients with skin type I-III. For clients with darker skin, we recommend our PicoSure laser.

If you use retinols, please discontinue use 1 week prior to your appointment. Please refrain from tanning prior to your treatment, we may not be able to perform your treatment on tanned skin. Everyone’s skin is so unique, so if there are any concerns specific to you, book a consultation to talk to one of us in depth about your treatment plan.

During MaxG Photofacial FAQ

Different parts of the body be timed differently – but if you’ve booked in for your face, we tell clients that they’ll be in the spa for about an hour.

While IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light, we promise that this treatment isn’t Intense at all! You may feel short bursts of warmth as we glide the handpiece and pulse the laser across your skin, with a built-in cooling tip and use a cooling Phyto mask after the treatment, we keep the skin cool and prepped for optimal healing.

Depending on your skin goals and the depth of your concerns, you will notice improvement after your first treatment; however, during the consultation, your Level technician will discuss treatment expectations with you.

Treatments can be done 4-6 weeks apart to allow for optimal healing and collagen production, while other superficial skin therapies can be performed in-between sessions 2 weeks pre or post your Photofacial treatment.

After MaxG Photofacial FAQ

You may have some mild warmth and some minor irritation to your skin, but once that goes away, most clients resume regular activities within 12-24 hours.  Every client will have a different outcome, so some may experience warmth for longer periods.

All changes to the skin are technically permanent, however we cannot stop the changes that happen to the skin over time from medications, lifestyle, at home skincare and other factors like aging.

Your Level technical will walk you through your full aftercare routine, as well as provide you with an aftercare kit to use during those vital first few days after treatment. Refrain from sun exposure and excess heat, as any laser can make your skin more sensitive to light and interrupt the healing process or worsen pigment.

Your skin may be warm and a little tender post treatment, we recommend letting the skin heal the first night with no makeup on.
